The old architecture, the beaches, the high rise buildings, endless marketplaces and the bustling food streets hosted by the City of Lights make it one of the most exciting places in Pakistan to live and to visit. Of course, as the major economic hub of the country, Karachi is no stranger to flocks of tourists visiting it every year.
For the longest time, Karachi was infamous for its load shedding and dirty Clifton Beach. But these reasons were not enough to sway people from visiting Karachi. The one thing that has caused a lot of people to reconsider visiting the City of Lights is the fact that having fun in Karachi can be an expensive affair.
If you are visiting Karachi and you’re on a budget, we at Ktown Rooms would like to tell you one of the most important facts about Karachi: no matter what your budget is, if you come to Karachi looking to enjoy yourself, you can and you will manage to have the most wonderful time.

1.The PAF Museum
One of the first budget-friendly activities to do while you’re in Karachi is to cherish the history of the defenders of our country by visiting the PAF Museum right on the main Shahrah-e-Faisal road adjacent to the PAF Base Faisal. Inaugurated on the 14th of August in 1997 by the former chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Abbas Khattak, the PAF Museum opened its doors to the public in October 1997.
Housing some of the most historic relics of the Pakistan Air Force, it includes the likes of the F-86 Sabre, the F-104 Starfighter, the Mirage-2000, the Antonov-12 and many more aircrafts on display for the public to see. There is also a wide selection of Air Defence equipment on display throughout the PAF museum.
A huge archives gallery also exists at the museum, which features various relics from the past. The PAF Museum also has a lot of rides, lush green parks and souvenir shops that you can purchase a wide range of memorabilia from.
The price of entry into the PAF Museum is just Rs. 40/- for adults and children under 12 can get in for just Rs. 20/-. When you visit Karachi, it doesn’t matter whether you are on a budget, the PAF Museum is one of the must-visit places in the city.
2.The Clifton Beach
Probably one of the most iconic aspects about this great coastal city is the Karachi Clifton Beach. Also known as the Sea View beach, this is definitely not one of the cleanest beaches in the world but one that will truly show you the lively spirit of the metropolitan city’s diverse population.
If you are looking to have a great time without spending too much money, visiting Sea View should definitely be on your itinerary. It is one of the most enjoyable budget-friendly activities while you’re visiting Karachi.
There is no entry fee to the beach so you can enjoy long walks on the breezy shore while munching on the delicious corn-on-the cob seasoned with chaat masala and lemon juice but that’s not all. Horse and camel rides are available too, which you can avail for just a few hundred rupees. There are dune buggies decorated with colorful lights and music blasting from the speakers which you can ride around. Just be sure to drive safely.
3.The Second Floor Café (T2F)
If you’re interested in participating in open discussions on a range of topics, from peace building to human rights and everything beyond, The Second Floor is the place for you to go. This place houses the Faraar Gallery on the ground floor, which hosts some of the most interesting events throughout the week, every week!

The number of activities this place hosts is absolutely stunning. One of the facts about Karachi is that it is an incredibly diverse and culturally-rich city. T2F exhibits that to the fullest extent. You can make the most of your time participating in conferences, musical events, talks, workshops, festivals and board game nights.
